When Jayden Stone committed, it was easy to draw parallels with other Horizon League imports like Dree Gholston and Marques Warrick, each of whom provided some scoring pop as reserves. In this edition of the Swing Skill Series, I looked at Stone's potential to fill that role.

About the only thing I have confidence in with most up-transfers is they take hair cut in minutes, see their usage curbed, and their efficiency remain level or fluctuate slightly in either direction.

It's why I tend to go look at play-type data and film to ask, "What are a few things this guy does well?"

Jayden is tricky for a host of regions. He didn't play a ton at Grand Canyon. He was ineligible for a semester during his first season at UDM. Then missed last year. We've got oneseason to go on, and it was part of a deeply flawed roster where Mike Davis kept shuffling lead guard duties among three guys.

This is a(nother) area where the staff earns its money: Can it sift through all this and find what Jayden does well?

My lack of confidence in Jayden Stone is one of the reasons I put T.O, Barrett in my top 8. He appears to me to be injury insurance at a reasonable price. However, I would never have predicted Dree's impact on the team either so who knows??
