4-star Wide Receiver DaMarion Fowlkes Flips from Pitt to Mizzou

Mizzou Football flipped another commitment after taking down the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday. First it was Kentucky Running Back commitment Marquise Davis, who flipped to the Tigers on Sunday. Then this morning, more good news as former Pitt Wide Receiver commit DaMarion Fowkles committed to the Eli Drinkwitz and the Missouri Tigers, per Hayes Fawcett of On3sports.com.

Fowlkes is a native of Olney, Maryland, a northern suburb of Washington D.C. He’s listed at 247sports.com and On3sports.com at 5’10 and 175 pounds and is rated a 4-star on both services. Rivals rates him as a 3-star prospect. Fowlkes commitment brings Missouri’s current class to 17 names, however we are in the final throws before signing day so expect a few more changes as the Tigers try to hold onto their commitments, and flip a few others.

I wrote about it in the post a bit, but I see Fowlkes as a natural fit in the Mookie Cooper role of the offense. He's got great hands and is a fast, physical runner. He's smaller, and he's not Tavon Austin fast, so he's never going to be an absolute wipeout guy in the open field. But his route tree is already developed enough that you can see why the staff would want to bring him in and develop him. I'll say this too: He's the type of guy the staff love to bring in and give snaps to immediately. Wouldn't surprise me to see him beat out a few of the other freshmen and pick up a few catches in blood donor games next year.

Fun fact about Fowlkes? He's cousins with DeMarcus Beasley, the famous USMNT soccer player. Only player to play with the USMNT in four World Cups. Athletics runs in the family!
